NAPHA is very proud to announce that 29 of the top horses in our breed are being offered in our Stallion Service Auction. You can view the horses and their information at www.bidbook.com. Once again, Peruvian Digest has been kind enough to provide us use of their auction site for free. All of the stallions are on line now. Actual bidding will begin on February 22, 2009 and will close on March 7, 2009. The auction will begin closing in alphabetical order at 3:00 PM on March 7. One horse will close every five minutes until all the horses have closed.
If you are planning to breed your mares, don’t miss this opportunity to “Breed to the Best.” Every stallion in the auction has won multiple Champion of Champions titles and is producing spectacular offspring. Our auction includes three U.S. National Laureado Breeding Stallions. You can visit NAPHA’s studbook on line at www.horsestudbook.com and find out anything you want to know about these stallions, i.e., pedigree, offspring, show records, breeders, etc.
The beginning bid on each horse has been set at $500. Don’t miss this once-a-year opportunity to bid to the finest in our breed. All of these stallions will improve your breeding program. This is a great opportunity to get these breedings at reduced cost.

ALL-GAITED JUNIOR BENEFIT
I am pleased to be able to take this opportunity to thank Kimberly Hall and Nola Giddings for all the work they do on behalf of the NAPHA Junior Scholarship Fund. Each year they produce the All-Gaited Junior Benefit Show to raise funds for the NAPHA Junior Scholarship Fund. The 2009 Show is scheduled for August 8-9 at the Solano County Fairgrounds in Vallejo, CA. I hope you will mark your calendar and participate in this very important function for our breed.
Thanks to Kimberly and Nola, NAPHA has been able to present $1,000 Scholarship awards for the past two years to deserving juniors in our breed without touching the Junior Scholarship Fund CD. All of us appreciate their hard work and energy on the behalf of juniors and the Peruvian Horse. This is truly a worthwhile project that enhances our breed and encourages our juniors. Our 2008 scholarship winner was Marissa DiTunno.

PERUVIAN HORSE AUCTION
Several top breeders have graciously donated outstanding horses to NAPHA for a bi-monthly horse auction. All funds raised by the auction will go to NAPHA. A horse will be auctioned every two months at www.bidbook.com.
I am pleased to begin the auction with one of my top geldings, ECL Indio. The son of U.S. National Laureado Breeding Stallion RSV Inolvidable+, Indio is ready to continue to make his mark in the show ring, or on the trails. He is strong and very smooth.
